Simply delicious soul food. Traveling through Minden, we stopped at this place due to other reviews we read. It was a little restaurant tucked back in to a neighborhood, hard to find, but worth it. My husband had fried chicken, turnip greens, and purple hull peas. I had chicken fried steak with new potatoes and green beans. We kept switching our plates back and forth. I think we moaned at the waiter when he asked if everything was good. Can t say enough about this place. A hidden gem for sure.

Had lunch there today chicken fried steak turnip greens and mac and cheese with hot water cornbread!!!

Simply the best. My friends, family and I have been enjoying the wonderful dishes served up by Ms. Ernestine and her lovely staff for over 20 years. A must stop if you're in Minden. Thursday is Chicken n ' Dumplins day, but you will be able to find many delicious, soulful dishes any day you decide to go. Make sure to try the hot water corn bread. It's unfortunate that the star rating was lessened by the person who couldn't find it. It might be a better practice to only "rate" places you where you actually eat.
